The Supplies & Purchasing Department at the Territorial Headquarters has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Office Assistant to support the sales & marketing team. This individual contributes creative design, advertising, and online marketing strategy with the purpose of increasing the exposure and sales of essential ministry tools. The Office Assistant coordinates all aspects of social media marketing, website content and ensures site functionality via Shopify/Blue Switch web partners. Additionally, the Office Assistant will support all aspects and functions of the Supplies & Purchasing Department.


Develops and implements online strategic plans and vision with emphasis on ensuring the efforts are aligned with the overall department and organizational goals.
Supports all activities related to connecting with our online audience.
Coordinates postings of on-line publication. i.e. Trade eCatalog and Approved Vendor Brochure via ISSUU subscription.
Identifies current and future strategies to engage more users.
Assists with the coordination of new content and maintains existing content including leading and planning the implementation of keywords, video, sound and media files.
Promotion of Territorial events and Trade visitations/pop-up shops.
Marketing of Territorial products including, but not limited to videos, initiatives, publications both books & periodicals.
Creates graphics in various mediums including print and ensures a consistent look and feel is maintained across all channels.
Supports designs and implementation of online e-newsletters, e-mail blasts, event promotion.
Serves on various committees and task force groups relating to online efforts and visions as assigned.Proofs and edits promotional material and other documents as required.
Is responsible for special projects and other assignments as directed.
Supports Live Events as needed.
Assist the Sales and Marketing Manager with website operations and functionality with specific responsibility for website front end management via Shopify/Blue Switch.
Responsible for website inventory management via LS Retail/Serenic systems.
Produce descriptions of new and existing product for website.
Monitor Live Chat feed and answer questions via website portal.
Coordinate inquiries from website for successful outcome.
Communicate customer feedback with management.
Process Website Uniform orders as needed.
Ship uniform orders to customers as needed.
Troubleshoot website issues as needed.
Process Website returns, exchanges.
Process Website refunds as needed.
Maintain Website shipping logs for USE Trade.
Take pictures as needed and assist with photo shoots.
Reconcile transactions and inventory on website as needed.

Assist with Trade social media marketing via all platforms as needed.
Attend special SA and Trade events as requested by the Director.
Take pictures, shoot live video for social media as directed.
Monitor social media platforms for content.
Answer questions via social media platforms as needed.

Coordinates excel files for addresses.
Make corrections and keep address files current.
Assist Sales and Marketing Manager with all print marketing pieces and promotions.
Proofread catalog and other print marketing pieces as needed.
Transport, when needed, items to warehouse for print marketing distribution.

Assist with preparing marketing reports.
Help in the Trade Store as needed.
Travel to Trade Consignments as needed and directed.
Prepare correspondence on new and existing products, events, or promotions as requested by Sales and Marketing Manager or the Director.
Typing of letters, minutes, agendas as requested.
Training and knowledge on POS registers required for department consignments.
Responsible for running errands for Sales and Marketing Manager that might be needed for promotions, events, to promote the business.
Assist with any other duties as assigned.


Associate's Degree
3-5 years experience
Competent in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or similar design programs.
Competent understanding of video editing software.
Understanding of audio recording/editing software programs.
Competent photo editing (lighting, posing, post-production editing etc.).
Firm understanding of Salvation Army procedures, programs, and resources.
Previous website management experience preferred. Understanding of website management tools.
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM/ERP programs.
