responsible for developing and executing complex procurement
strategies to provide business-building innovation, assurance of
supply, superior cost management and uncompromising stewardship.
Key responsibilities include development of procurement strategies,
delivery of cost savings through commercial and technical project
management and effective supplier relationship management with
strategic suppliers for approximately $42M in annual direct
category spend for Balchem plants in United States, Italy, Belgium
and Malaysia.Key focus areas include sourcing strategy definition,
deployment, and stakeholder management, to maximize total cost of
ownership savings and procurement value contribution. Works in
collaboration with the business to understand business needs,
develop regional and global market insights, risks and
opportunities, and help drive goals. He/She drives Procurement
value contribution to Balchem while ensuring compliance with
policies, strategies and processes.As an experienced leader, this
high visibility position will support different business units
within Balchem. As a pro-active member in numerous multi-functional
teams, you will share the goal of a best-in-class network of
innovative suppliers which drives value and delivers the highest
caliber of services to Balchem.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Name: Strategy
Development and Sourcing Execution
Description: Development and implementation of complex procurement
strategies with cross functional teams to include the analysis of
emerging technologies, supplier capability analysis, supplier
relationship management.To include:
- Build consensus and drive alignment amongst key stakeholders in
support of procurement initiatives and programs (sourcing,
implementation, compliance)
- Provide key stakeholders with SME leadership and guidance and
access, analyze and present relevant market intelligence to inform
stakeholders aligned with the Sourcing strategy and business
strategy.
- Develop a pipeline of projects, working with leadership and key
stakeholders to align resources for support as needed
- Lead sourcing events, supplier negotiation strategy and process
and manage stakeholder engagement and alignment throughout the
end-to-end sourcing process
- Manage bid proposals (RFI/RFP), requirements documentation,
service level agreements (SLA), purchase/service agreements and
other related documents as needed.
- Find alternate and innovative ideas to provide business
solutions, challenge requirements and specifications to create a
competitive advantage
- Drive project execution (including project prioritization,
securing resources, governance and controls)
- Creation, validation and review of cost models to influence
total cost of ownership

- Build should cost financial models to understand cost
structures in support of sourcing events and efforts to identify
cost savings opportunities.

organization's executives, department heads and other stakeholders

Description: Through collaborative efforts with suppliers and
internal stakeholders, identify innovative initiatives that reduce
costs, improve quality and serviceTo include:
- Identify and qualify potential new suppliers to ensure forward
looking visibility of best-in-class cost, service delivery, service
offerings and future service or capability roadmap.
- Strategically manage vendor relationships. Coordinate ongoing
supplier management practices with internal customers to optimize
financial and operational performance.
- Support efforts to resolve ongoing supplier performance issues
that negatively impact the cost, quality or service performance
levels
- Assist stakeholders in managing supplier relationships,
tracking supplier performance, and communicating performance
feedback to suppliers
- Proactively organize sessions with internal stakeholders and
Suppliers to identify Total Cost of Ownership reduction
opportunities at Balchem and at the Supplier

with the legal team and senior stakeholders as appropriate

Tactical Procurement Support
Description: Will have procurement support resources but will also
get involved in tactical supply assurance issues and tracking of
costs, cost savings, contract management and other important
metrics.To include but not limited to:
- Secure knowledge transfer and exchange by creating and storing
project deliverables and relevant tools and templates in knowledge
repositories
- Payment Terms recording and performance improvement
tracking
- Support savings tracking processes, measure contract compliance
and other key metrics to ensure targets are being met and value is
being delivered to the business

- Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree of Science (Finance,
Operations/Business Management, Engineering)
- Qualifications Required: 5+ Years Procurement Experience
- Qualifications Preferred: MBA Degree, CPM Certification
- Extensive understanding of category management process with
experience in the following areas preferred - Packaging, Minerals,
Methionine, Vegetable Carriers, Urea, Fertilizers
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Project Management
- Skills: Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills,
Leadership Capabilities, Interpersonal Skills, Negotiations,
Problem Solving, Analytical Skills
- Strong influence management skills including comfort operating
in a highly matrix-based environment
- Ability to articulate and communicate vision and strategic
direction.
- Proven experience working in or directly with relevant
functions, based on role, including frequent interaction with
senior leadership
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Demonstrated ability to drive performance improvements from
action plans derived from robust data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to model various business scenarios and
analyze resulting costs, impacts, risks, and benefits to inform and
recommend business solutions.
- Deep understanding of financial measurement; ability to
identify and quantify legitimate areas of business benefit (cost
savings, avoidance, client satisfaction, quality improvement,
etc.)
- Ability to read, interpret, and suggest improvements to
contracts and other legal agreements.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the 5 or 7-step sourcing
process
- Well refined understanding of continuous improvement concepts
and principles
- Objectively challenges established practices to stimulate
alternative thinking

- Minimum Level: Proficient Verbal & Written Communication
