SummaryWorking within team, cross-functionally, and with outside consultants, to realize the team's mission by supporting LG's North American (NA) operations in researching, monitoring, and implementing ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) related policies and strategies including, but not limited to, the policy making process, government (Federal, State, local) related initiatives, new business opportunities, and GHG reduction programs at the product, manufacturing, and establishment levels.
ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Policy Analysis & Implementation

• Monitor, track, evaluate, and advise on relevant environmental related policies, regulatory developments, and legislative activities (local, state, and federal)
• Through monitoring and tracking relevant regulatory developments, identify business related opportunities and/or initiatives
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal/external environmental scientists, engineers, and experts to discuss and strategize regarding LG's ESG goals in compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations
• Advise and support the execution of the company's set ESG strategy in GHG reduction and renewable energy implementations for all operational sites in NA
• Build and maintain positive relationships with appropriate organizations (government, NGO, trade, rule-making, etc.) to ensure LG's global ESG leadership position
• Collaborate and work cross-functionally to ensure that LG's overall strategic ESG objectives and directions are well aligned with LG's global goals while it being fully embedded throughout the North American organization
  Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferrably in (political science and/or sustainability development)
  • Master's degree preferred (political science and/or sustainability development)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in related field preferred
  • General knowledge of electronics products and home appliances
  • High level of comfort in interacting with clients at all levels of leadership via polished oral and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet tight deadlines, and maintain flexibility with changing strategic priorities
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Passionate, creative and committed, with strong ability to lead and influence
  • Strong project and budget management expertise, with superb attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
