company, visit POSITION SUMMARY : The Operational Excellence
Manager is responsible for specific processes including but not
limited to standard work procedures, standards improvements in loss
elimination as it applies to asset performance, operational &
maintenance organizational capabilities, plant metrics, red to
green monitoring and gap correction planning, cost controls, plant
process and metrics execution framework (work origination,
planning, scheduling, coordination, operator care, 5S etc.), and
cause analysis competencies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Establish, maintain and continually improve plant performance
through process engineering activities, including:
- Process root cause analysis and corrective action
implementation
- Procedure audits and corrections
- Product and process optimization through engineering and
chemistry principles
- Management of change activities, collaborating with operations,
R&D, Quality and Engineering
- Working with Engineering on Capital Projects to ensure highly
functional and cost-effective results
- Ensure the use of CAPA and accelerated continuous improvement
processes to track and capture value initiatives
- Occasionally must provide updates to senior leadership
regarding overall or specific plant progress
- Develop, continually improve, and promote usability of data
visualization tools such as PowerBi and Pi Data Historian as it
relates to operations and maintenance functions
- As needed, lead or participate in specific site high speed turn
around team efforts
- Foster a team-oriented culture of coordination, cooperation and
communication cross-functionally throughout the company
- Build and maintain a high-performance environment and coach
others in effective team interaction and function; foster an
empowerment environment
- Must understand the company vision and set goals that will
drive the team in that direction
- Must be familiar with and comply with company policies and
procedures including those of the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Equal
Employment Opportunity (EEO), and Federal Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) regulations
- Ability and willingness to learn, understand, follow and
promote documented work procedures REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or
related field from an accredited university/college and significant
work experience
- 7+ years of operational excellence experience, Proven direct
leadership experience, minimum of 5 years leadership experience in
a manufacturing environment preferred
- Proven proactive preventative and predictive maintenance
experience and results
- Food or pharmaceutical experience a plus
- Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, ERP)
- Knowledge of PLC's a plus
- Knowledge of food GMP's a plus
- Specific knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM
systems preferred
- Clear sense of urgency and ability to manage priorities to meet
immediate needs and long-term goals
- Ability to manage time and workload efficiently, and the
ability to prioritize and modify priorities accordingly
- Strong safety orientation
- Documented effective delegation skills
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to work and develop others in a team
environment
- Sensitive to other cultures/backgrounds, able to work in a
multi-cultural workplace
- Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced environment
while moving multiple simultaneous projects forward
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to discuss,
develop, and implement plans
