Our client, an american manufacturer of premium and commercial paints , is seeking anRelease Train Engineer (Project Manager)Location: Montvale, NJPosition Type: IT Full TimeJob Summary:The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is an essential member of the Program Management Office (PMO) and will report to the Director, Program Management Office & IT Governance. The RTE is a servant leader and coach for an Agile Release Train (ART). Working as one of the three primary members of an Agile Release Train's (ART) Program Team the RTE facilitates ART processes and execution. They escalate impediments, manage risk, help ensure value delivery, and help drive relentless improvement. The RTEs major responsibilities are to lead and facilitate ART events, and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. RTEs communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk and drive relentless improvement. The RTE is also a people manager of Scrum Masters.Job Responsibilities:Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanban and other information radiatorsEstablish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning eventsFacilitate the PI planning eventSummarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives (the RTE) and publish them for visibility and transparencyAssist in tracking the execution of features and capabilitiesFacilitate periodic synchronization events, including the ART syncAssist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessaryCoach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsetsHelp manage risks and dependenciesEscalate and track impedimentsProvide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecksEncourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/EngineeringWork with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignmentImprove the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand through a Continuous Delivery PipelineHelp drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycleWork with the Program Management Office (PMO) on program execution and operational excellenceUnderstand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure adherence to GuardrailsFacilitate System DemosDrive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improveFoster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practicesEducation:Bachelor's degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is requiredMBA or other Advanced degree (preferred)Certified SAFe - Scrum Master (CSM)Certified SAFe - Release Train Engineer (RTE)Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (preferred)Knowledge, Skills and Experience:3+ years of experience in Scrum Master and/or RTE rolesProven experience implementing ARTs in SAFe - / Agile environmentDemonstrated characteristics of Servant LeadershipAbility to collaborate while maintaining independent judgmentAdvanced knowledge of Lean-Agile practicesExperience in program management, digital program management office coordination, dependency management (business / technology)Understands unique opportunities and challenges associated with facilitating and continuously aligning a large development programExperience with geographically distributed teamsExperience in organizational development, change and cultureExceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to deliver Leadership level presentationsExpert with Agile tools and technologies (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
