by applying today.PRIMARY PURPOSE:Under minimal supervision, this
position is responsible for all aspects of the center and/or mobile
operations; this position serves as the operational supervisor for
the day. Manages donor flow and staff assignments for optimal
efficiency, in conjunction with the Donor Recruitment
Representative, and/or blood drive coordinator. Ensures compliance
with SOP, FDA and AABB standards during blood collection
operations.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs all assigned duties
in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings
compliance issues to the attention of management.Assures quality
customer service to all customers.Maintains good attendance and
punctuality per the absence policy.Serves as the operational
supervisor for the day at center and/or mobile operations. Assists
staff as needed by interviewing and phlebotomizing of whole blood,
automated red cell/plasma and apheresis donors. Coaches and
mentors' staff and serves as a subject matter expert.Assigns staff
breaks, lunches and daily assignments to optimize donor flow and
that maximizes effective use of personnel's strengths and
weaknesses.Ensures collection events function in compliance with
all regulatory standards and according to defined organizational
policies and procedures. Maintains awareness and follows all safety
procedures, as outlined by the company.Coordinates setting-up and
maintaining of donor interview and drawing areas, cleaning of area
and equipment, and restocking suppliesServes as the main point of
contact for blood drive coordinators. Demonstrates excellent
communication skills and customer service when interacting with
donors, staff, blood drive coordinators, etc. Provide explanation
to donors concerning deferrals and other questions the donor may
have regarding eligibility. Consults with management, as
necessary.Assists the Manager or Supervisor in providing direction
and/or supervision of Donor Care Technicians. Provides input for
employee performance evaluations.Packs blood products for temporary
storage and transportation to processing location. Drives the
company vehicle, as needed.Executes continuous improvement
initiatives through collaboration with team members and empowers
staff to identify opportunities for process improvement and
communicates to management.Communicates production goals and other
hot topics through huddles and meetings. Supportive and responsible
for the execution of the organization's strategic
directionFinancially responsible for company credit card purchases
associated with collection events.Ensures equipment, vehicles, and
facilities meets acceptable criteria according to FDA, AABB, OSHA
and enterprise standards and regulations.Identifies, resolves,
reports problem/issues and shares opportunities (e.g., donor flow,
complaints, coordinator comments, room conditions, etc.) to
supervisor, or if appropriate, applicable departments.Performs all
other duties at the discretion of management, as
assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge/EducationAssociate's degree with
current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.Meets job
requirements and successful completion of supervisory training
program within six months required.Thorough knowledge of SOPs
required.Licenses/CertificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN)
license required (multiple state licenses may be required).Valid
in-state driver's license required.ExperienceTwo years previous
work experience in a DCT position or healthcare-related experience
preferred.Skills/AbilitiesMust possess the skills and abilities to
successfully perform all assigned duties and
responsibilities.Demonstrated leadership and excellent
communication skills to lead other employees.Donor interviewing and
phlebotomy technique.Able to handle donor reaction.Knowledge of
business practices.Ability to foster teamwork.Able to work flexible
shifts, varied schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays, on
call, as needed.Strong organizational skills and attention to
detail.Must be able to read and comprehend written procedures and
instructions.Basic working knowledge or Windows operating system,
keyboard usage, and PC.Must be trained and knowledgeable in using
and maintaining applicable equipment that may include automated red
cell and plasma, apheresis and whole blood equipment.Physical
ability to lift, bend and reach.Excellent customer service
skills.Able to maintain donor, patient and employee
confidentiality.Travel out-of-town may be required.Must possess a
good driving record (if required to drive a company
