Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Long-Term Care
Nurse Manager to lead our clients behavioral health team within
their long-term care facility. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in psychiatric nursing, exceptional leadership
skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to elderly
residents with behavioral health needs.*Responsibilities:**
*Clinical Leadership*: Provide clinical leadership and supervision
to the behavioral health team, including registered nurses,
licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and other
staff members, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive,
person-centered care to residents with behavioral health
disorders.* *Assessment and Care Planning*: Conduct comprehensive
assessments of residents with behavioral health needs, develop
individualized care plans in collaboration with the
interdisciplinary team, and oversee the implementation of
appropriate interventions and treatments to promote optimal
resident outcomes.* *Medication Management*: Coordinate medication
management services for residents with psychiatric disorders,
including medication administration, monitoring for therapeutic
effectiveness and side effects, and collaboration with physicians
and pharmacists to adjust treatment regimens as needed.*
*Behavioral Interventions*: Develop and implement behavioral
interventions and management strategies to address challenging
behaviors exhibited by residents with dementia, mood disorders,
psychosis, and other behavioral health conditions, ensuring a safe
and therapeutic environment for all residents and staff.* *Staff
Training and Development*: Provide ongoing training, education, and
support to nursing staff and other team members on topics related
to behavioral health care, dementia care, communication techniques,
de-escalation strategies, and person-centered care principles.*
*Quality Improvement*: Monitor and evaluate the quality of
behavioral health services provided to residents, identify areas
for improvement, and implement quality improvement initiatives to
enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of care delivery.* *Family
and Caregiver Support*: Collaborate with residents' families,
caregivers, and legal representatives to develop care plans,
address concerns, and provide education and support regarding
residents' behavioral health needs and treatment
options.*Requirements:** Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in NJ.*
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in
Nursing (MSN) preferred* Minimum of 3 years of experience in
long-term care/psychiatric nursing, with at least 1 year in a
leadership or management role preferred* Strong knowledge of
geriatric psychiatry, dementia care, and behavioral health
management in long-term care settings* Excellent leadership,
communication, and interpersonal skills* Ability to work
collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and adapt to the
unique needs and preferences of elderly residents with behavioral
health disorders_Please note- The annual base salary range is $100k
to $115k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate
may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location,
work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
