Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Collections Representative SUMMARY: Manages collection activities and all levels of delinquency up to charge-off; supports all aspects of collections on all accounts.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Negotiates payment of all current and past due accounts by direct telephone and written correspondence for all office visits as well as EMGs.
  • Initiates correspondence regarding delinquency status; updates customer account information.
  • Identifies and monitors potential problem accounts.
  • Utilizes collection techniques to resolve accounts according to company's policies and procedures.
  • Researches, resolves, corrects, and prevents invoice discrepancies by active interaction with customers, sales, and other appropriate staff/departments.
  • Research and mail credit memos and duplicate payment letters.
  • Researches and resolves all short payments within departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs detailed account reconciliations as needed to resolve complex disputed receivable issues.
  • Communicates status of account problems on a regular basis.
  • Prepares monthly client account analysis summaries.
  • Recommends collection strategies and/or efforts.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent, one to two years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
      • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
      • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
      • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
      • Acute attention to detail
      • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
      • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
      • Ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures.
      • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
      • Bilingual skills a plus.
      • Excellent customer service skills
