A typical week in the life of a DevOps engineer: Make
improvements to Jenkins build and deploy pipelines for our
dockerized, cloud-based, distributed web application. Minimum of 5
years of experience with DevOps tools and practices. Help our Java
developers troubleshoot a production deployment problem. Make
improvements to Jenkins build and deploy pipelines for a
Linux-based HTTP caching application. Use git and your favorite
text editor to submit and review PRs on our Enterprise GitHub
environment. Work with the Lead DevOps engineer to standardize
libraries, tools, and approaches that apply to DevOps needs of the
larger Media Distribution organization. Fix bugs in our pytest test
suite that runs post-deployment smoke tests against our global
media delivery caching infrastructure. Work on eliminating some
duplication in our Ansible playbook git repos Make some updates to
our team wiki pages and run books. Attend dev teams--- ceremonies
Participate in our weekly team meeting, where we talk about our
accomplishments for the week and get to know each other better.
Basic Qualifications: Software development experience with
Java/Spring/Spring Boot, or Python. Experience with containerized
runtime environments. Experience with AWS products and services
(EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, SNS/SQS, RDS, ElastiCache,
CloudFront, etc.). Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible,
Chef, or Puppet. Experience conducting technical deep-dives of
system configuration and code. Experience with Linux environments A
desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment that
requires initiative, proactiveness, constant learning, and
effective written communication Comfortable working remotely on a
geographically distributed team. Nice to have skills: AWS MySql
Aurora databases administration. pytest, Cypress and other test
automation tools. Experience building RPM packages. Experience with
large-scale, multi-tier distributed systems running in AWS ECS.
Experience with Grafana and Kibana. Experience with Ansible Tower.
Knowledge of IXP and ISP domains. Location: New York, NY, San
Francisco, CA, or Seattle, WA preferred but also open to US remote
for the right candidate. DisneyTech The pay range for this position
in Colorado is $117,752 to $157,960 per year, however, base pay
offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity,
job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
