The Customer Technical Services (CTS) representative is the primary technical contact representing Berry at customer fill locations. The CTS rep works with the customer plant personnel (hourly, salaried and plant management) to assure smooth new product launches as well as providing routine visits. These visits are intended to support customer filling, sealing and capping operations, and address performance issues and process improvement initiatives.

80% of travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Primary on site Berry representative maintaining trusted relationship with the customer.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by encouraging the proper use of product with a focus on quality and technical service.
  • Diagnosis of customer problems and the generation of adequate information to communicate the opportunities on a plant/corporate level.
  • Active / primary role with field trials of Berry packaging systems.
  • Training and performance of functional tests at customer facilities to validate package performance.

Qualifications

  • A degree is preferred with focus on Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality.
  • 5 years combined education and related experience required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a working knowledge of quality systems is required.
  • A plastic packaging design background relating to material handling is desired.
  • Experience in plastics industry is desired.
  • Experience with customer filling line operations is desired.
  • Prior mechanical experience with customer filling equipment is preferred.
  • Prior experience in an automated material handling environment is desired. History of extensive travel is desired.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Power Point)
  • Fundamental understanding of statistics is preferred
  • Excellent oral/written communication with established organizational skills.
  • Confident, motivated and ability to work independently with customers, manufacturing plants and corporate groups while possessing data driven problem solving skills using proven and recognizable techniques.
