Future-Fit.PROCUREMENT STRATEGY & INSIGHTSThe Procurement Strategy
& Insights Team serves as the nerve centre of the Unilever global
procurement organization, which enables the procurement
organization to design and deliver step-change across the
procurement value chain, operating process, and business model.
This team is responsible for:
- Sensing and incubating innovative ideas, new business models &
transformation programs for value creation as UPLT partners
- Enabling transformation programs, facilitating upskilling of
employees, and developing strategy with respective portfolio VPs
and PCLF members
- Identifying and scaling up best practices across the global
procurement organizationMAIN JOB PURPOSEReporting to the Data
Strategy & Digital Lead, Global Procurement, the purpose of this
role is:
- Lead a team of Data Analyst and Data Engineer to deliver the
data strategy and analytics hub agenda
- Design framework and target operating model for a sustainable
and scalable data product
- Provide expert data science input and advice into strategic
projects across Procurement
- Utilizing data to drive future-fit procurement strategy and to
create value in competitive buying, resilience & partnerships
- Build strategic partnership with other data teams across
Unilever (e.g., D&A, UniOps, Supplier Operations, Digital
R&D, Digital Supply Chain)KEY INTERACTIONSThe Lead Data
Scientist, Procurement Strategy & Insights will interface with the
following stakeholders:
- Chief Procurement Officer, UPLT members & PCLF
- Head of Global Procurement Strategy & Insights
- Head of Procurement Supplier Operations and team
- Other Procurement Strategy & Insights Lead
- Procurement Finance Team

- Create future-fit data products blueprint for Procurement
- Identify, transform, and connect all procurement relevant
data
- Ensure consistent and trusted data across Procurement
Organization
- Design data modelling processes, create algorithms and
predictive models
- Democratize data for self-service analytics and insights
generation
- Support Sourcing Team on Business Intelligence and Advance
Analytics for value creationStrategic Partnership, Internal &
External
- Create joint data strategy with D&A, Supplier Operations,
Digital R&D and Supply Chain team
- Manage initiatives / solutions in collaboration with other
Strategy & Insights team members
- Manage internal flexible resources on potential innovation
programs with agile principles

REQUIRED
- Experienced Data Scientist (min. 3 years) in building data
architecture design, development of large-scale data platforms, and
data modelling with ability to measure success and impact
- 3-5 years of experience of managing supply chain and/or
procurement data analytics either in Unilever / FMCG industry or in
a large complex organisation with strong portfolio and market
expertise
- Proficient in data/statistics programming languages (Python/R),
familiar with database languages (SQL/NoSQL/GSQL), and have an
experience in analysing geospatial data
- Demonstrated skills in selecting the right statistical tools
given a data analysis problem, good logical thinking, and ability
to quickly learn and understand new business problem to apply data
techniques
- Strong business and commercial acumen
- Has a comprehensive understanding of Agile principles, values,
methodologies, and practices that enable agility and approaches
delivery with an iterative and incremental (test - do learn)
approach
