To learn more about our dynamic, stable and growing company, visit www.balchem.com POSITION SUMMARY : Under the supervision of the Senior Manager - Indirect Procurement, solicits bids, coordinates and evaluates requests for quote, negotiates prices, and places purchase orders. Enters, reviews, and coordinates purchasing transactions in the ERP System. Sources material, services, and equipment as necessary. Expedites and ensures proper receipt of purchase orders as necessary. Manages vendor master updates for all procurement - direct, indirect and capital. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Places purchase orders, as required, in support of the Corporate Operations group and other departments as needed such as R&D.
• Maintains the effective administration of the MRP/ERP systems through timely entries and daily review of critical purchasing and inventory data
• Updates Vendor master data for all new vendors and
• Solicits proposals from vendors and negotiates the best possible deal for materials and services, taking into account the quality, service and price for each proposal.
• Facilitates the timely purchase of goods, within acceptable lead times from vendors through regular coordination with plant operations personnel
• Interacts on a daily basis with the Senior Manager - Indirect Procurement to evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing negotiations and the purchasing system
• Researches potential new suppliers for corporate services; supports the evaluation of new suppliers, and supplies, including the solicitation of initial vendor documentation
• Participates in the forecasting and budgeting processes as necessary
• Follows all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards at Corporate and/or site locations where activities require site visits.
• Provides backup to the Senior Manager - Indirect Procurement on an as-needed basis
• Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum one (3) year of purchasing experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Bachelor-s Degree preferred
• Good negotiating skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts
• Effective analysis/problem solving/decision-making skills
• Proficient with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft office tools including Power BI WORKING CONDITIONS:
