The OpportunityThe Opportunity - Coop/Intern, Mechanical AssemblerReporting into the Manager, Production, the Intern, Mechanical Assembler will support the production and assembly of various rugged enclosures and integrated electronic sub-systems.Supports the assembly of integrated sub systems and assemblies in accordance with laid down blueprints to make sure all products meet the MIL Standards and ready for deployment by the customers in a timely fashion and by ensuring quality at source and compliance were maintained throughout the production life cycle.

Your Challenge:

• Perform any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools and related equipment.
• Operate press brake to assemble sheets.
• Operate automatic fastener machine to secure lining to sidewalls.
• Operate index machine.
• Perform carpenter-related work.
• Operate both stationary and moving overhead cranes.
• Install lights and wiring.
• Operate any equipment needed to perform job.
• Perform other related duties as needed by the supervisor.
  Technical Capabilities:
  • Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions.
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and develop a new concept or idea.
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
  • Math skills including the ability to use and understand common fractions and decimals.Qualifications of Successful Candidate:Education/Training:
    • Currently Enrolled in a two (2) year Associates or Vocational training institution or pursuing a four (4) year Technical degree in mechanical/machine assembly program.
    • A track record of outstanding academic performance.
    • Eagerness to contribute in a team-oriented environment.
    • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
      Internship Experience Benefit:Upon completion of the internship program, you will have been exposed to, and learnt to fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment, have ability to review the design, drawing and check completeness of rugged electronics enclosures and consoles - which is a great chance for consideration for any job openings after expiration of internship.

      • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
