You will also be recognized as a technical expert within own department and across division for mathematical modeling and data science in support of Digital CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) capability development. As part of the Technology Excellence group, you will report to the Head, Technology Excellence.How you will contribute:Recognized as a technical expert within own department and across division for mathematical modeling and data science in support of Digital CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) capability developmentResponsible for significant or sole technical leadership within project or complex studyProvides theoretical/conceptual input to the design, development, and execution of research assignments for strategic cross-functional workstreamsProactively identifies technical issues/challenges and proposes potential resolutions.Stays current on emerging technological trends and external communities & consortia related to data science, data engineering, computational process development, systems biology, and advanced process control.Designs, builds, and deploys industry-leading smart algorithms and predictive models (empirical, first principle, and/or hybrid) to support optimization of control loops, platform performance and CMC workflows to advance pipeline programs and innovation initiatives.Understands and uses different Supervised and Unsupervised learning techniques, their biases, how and when to apply them and which methods are the best for a particular analysis.Able to wrangle raw data sets into a format that can have advanced methods applied against the resulting data.Provides applied data science and advanced modeling support (e.g., AI/ML, statistical, chemometric) to multiple initiatives or project teamsParticipates in cross-functional workstreams and project teams to provide technical support as a Subject Matter Expert in Digital CMC and data science & modelingSupports local and global initiatives which may include leading initiatives or work streamsUnderstands project timelines and deliverables and plans/coordinates project work accordingly with departmental, functional and external stakeholdersServes as a technical resource for Pharm Sci staff and leverage expertise in Digital CMC as a functional resource/dependently designs and executes experiments, and reports resultsAssists with development of project strategy and communicates complex data/decisions within department and cross functionally as necessaryBuilds and maintains relationships with key vendors and assists with technical aspects of vendor negotiationsProactively analyses technical issues and coordinates potential resolution with team members.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Bio-Informatics, Mathematics, Chemometrics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related pharmaceutical science and 8+ years relevant industry experienceMasters degree in Data Science, Statistics, Bio-Informatics, Mathematics, Chemometrics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related pharmaceutical science 6+ years relevant industry experiencePhD in Data Science, Statistics, Bio-Informatics, Mathematics, Chemometrics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related pharmaceutical science and 0+ years relevant industry experienceUnderstanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) is preferredExperience in working in a multi-disciplinary team environmentMay require approximately 5-10% travel.What Takeda can offer you:Comprehensive Healthcare: Medical, Dental, and VisionFinancial Planning & Stability: 401(k) with company match and Annual Retirement Contribution PlanHealth & Wellness programs including onsite flu shots and health screeningsGenerous time off for vacation and the option to purchase additional vacation daysCommunity Outreach Programs and company match of charitable contributionsFamily Planning SupportFlexible Work PathsTuition reimbursementMore about us:At Takeda, we are transforming patient care through the development of novel specialty pharmaceuticals and best in class patient support programs.
