has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and
detailed oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. The
Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set
processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of
the care team to support the vision and mission of the
organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean
processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and
service goals.Hours: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00
pm, a 40-hour work week schedule to be determined by the practice
manager upon hireTravel: Will be required to travel to all
Optum-Gastroenterology sitesPrimary Responsibilities:
Greet patient when entering the
practiceObtain accurate and updated patient information, such as
name, address, insurance information, referrals, and
pre-registrationPerform insurance verification on the date of
serviceFile and maintain medical recordsConfirms and schedule
appointmentsAnswer telephone calls promptly and courteouslyFollow
up with remote monitoring patientsCollects co-pays or outstanding
balances on the date of servicePerform referral documentation
promptlyPerforms certain follow-up services for patients in a
prompt and courteous manner, such as scheduling specialist
appointments, scheduling follow-up appointments and obtaining
copies lab results or specialist reportsAdhere to the standards
identified in Optums Employee Policy ManualCooperate with other
Optum employees to achieve specific team goalsKeep abreast on
current medical requirements relevant to their position, which
includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all
HIPAA and OSHA requirementsAssist coworkers as needed to assure
smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through
teamworkDemonstrate respect for patients and Optum staff by
presenting a friendly, courteous manner at all times and
maintaining patient confidentialityPerform other duties as

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)1+
years of experience working in a medical front office position,
performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking
patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and
maintaining medical recordsIntermediate level of computer
proficiency (multi-task through multiple applications including
Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)Bilingual in Spanish and
EnglishAbility to travel 100% of the time to other
Optum-Gastroenterology sites and have access to reliable
transportationFull COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job
function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate
COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state

obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when
