This position works with the R&D, Operations Quality, Commercial, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to develop and disseminate product and facility documentation to support customers' qualification and ongoing purchase and use of Balchem products. They are responsible for ensuring that customer-facing documentation supplied to Balchem customers is accurate, current, and meets applicable regulatory requirements. They will be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers and peers.
The Senior Analyst prepares customer-facing plant and product documentation, completes customer questionnaires, and reviews customer requirements. They ensure that Balchem standards for labeling and regulatory interpretation are followed.
The Senior Analyst may provide support and/or supervision for others within the S&CQ team at an assigned location, or within the broader Supply or Customer Quality teams.

Customer Quality:

Responsible for Customer Quality functions for assigned products and business units.
Log and respond to customer requests for documentation regarding Balchem finished products, production facilities, and policies in a timely manner.
Assist with new product commercialization and change control processes.
Conduct independent research in order to develop solutions to document requests.
Coordinate with Commercial, R&D, Regulatory, Operations, as well as greater Supply and Customer Quality Team to ensure that food quality and food safety, customer, company, and regulatory needs are met for products to be produced.
Support Customer Quality activities and requests in other business units as may be needed.
Develop product documentation templates and statements as needed.
Maintain finished product information in various systems, including ERP.
Lead Customer Quality portion of new product commercialization process.
Initiate Change Control process as needed for specification changes.
Evaluate customer specifications and specification change requests using standard systems.


Record, track, and report appropriate KPIs.
Utilize systems and tools that may include TraceGains, USP/FCC, internal systems, and others.
Champion continuous improvement and best practice programs for Supply and Customer Quality activities and functions.
Participate in Change Control and, when appropriate, Customer Notification.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis investigations.
Provide support for wider Supply and Customer Quality, Operational Quality, and Regulatory teams as may be needed from time to time.
Responsible for escalating major quality or regulatory issues and any incidents affecting food safety or regulatory status to Balchem leadership.
Uses effective negotiation skills to resolve conflict and drive alignment.
Works effectively with team and cross functional partners.
Coordination with Supply Quality and Operational Quality to ensure compliance with certification program requirements for products produced by Balchem, including, but not limited to FoodChainID, RSPO, Organic, Kosher, and Halal. Assistance with certification programs within other businesses as needed.
Maintains current knowledge of applicable regulations and pending changes in regulations.
Maintains accurate, up-to-date records and databases.
Provides coverage in the absence of other Supply and Customer Quality staff.
Performs all other duties as requested by management staff.
Complies with all policies and procedures of the corporation.


Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Food Law, or related field.
Coursework or certificates:

US food regulations, Codex Alimentarius, foreign food regulations, PCQI, HACCP

5+ years prior experience in food or dietary supplement quality or regulatory affairs.
Prior experience may be considered in lieu of formal coursework or certificates.
Computer proficiency should include word processing, creation of spreadsheets and forms, and utilizing the internet to research various topics.
Ability to assess and interpret complex data and communicate the same in an effective and proactive manner.
Able to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision
Work is moderately sedentary; repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers when operating computer keyboard.
Operates typical office equipment.
Works inside and outside the office atmosphere.
